Fiji Islands Diving Sites
For those looking for a diving holiday in the South Pacific, Fiji Islands divesites are sure to appeal. Fiji is one of the top locations for scuba divers and has many world-famous dive sites. The clear warm tropical waters, excellent coral reefs (Fiji is known as the Soft Coral Capital of the World!) and myriad of colourful fish species are sure to appeal to both experienced as well as novice divers. Pelagic fish, turtles, dolphins, shark species, sometimes whales (seasonal) all combine to create the best Fiji dive holiday experience!
Dive sites include the following:
- Astrolabe Reef is one of the largest living organisms in the world. It is found in south central Fiji and closest to the islands of Kadavu and Ono. Dive resorts include Waisalima Beach Resort & Dive Centre on the eastern end of Kadavu, Matava Resort (also on Kadavu) and Mai Dive - Astrolabe Reef Resort on Ono island. Pristine conditions and remote island experiences.
- Rainbow Reef is probably one of the most popular divesites in Fiji and is found between the islands of Taveuni and Vanua Levu. Dive Operators and resorts on Taveuni all offer exciting dive trips to explore famous sites such as the Great White Wall and Annie's bommie. Taveuni is also great for snorkelling, fishing, hiking to waterfalls, Fijian village visits, cultural tours and birdwatching.
- Beqa Lagoon offers diverse divesites including colourful coral, shark feed dives, and even some wreck diving. You can stay on the island of Beqa itself (luxury dive resorts as well as budget dive resorts) or alternatively you can stay on the mainland at Pacific Harbour and let the dive operators whisk you out to the lagoon in professionally equipped dive boats. Aqua-Trek Beqa and Beqa Adventure Divers are two top dive operators in Pacific Harbour. This holiday destination is often called the Adventure Capital of Fiji! In addition to diving there is much to do - from game fishing to kayaking, white river rafting, ziplining through the hinterland rainforest tree tops, mountain biking, horseriding and more.
- Mamanuca Islands is one of the prettiest island regions in Fiji, with small islands, white sand beaches, turquoise lagoons. This means you can combine your Fiji diving with some great beach relaxation and sunset gazing!
- Nananu-i-Ra Island is found just off the northern tip of Viti Levu, Fiji's main island. Easy to get to in around 2hrs by road from Nadi Airport plus a 10 minute launch out to your resort. White sand beaches and lots of other watersports to enjoy when not underwater exploring the coral reefs! Windsurfing, kitesurfing, fishing, kayaking and more.
- Lomaiviti - or "central Fiji" is one of the most pristine areas to dive. Island resorts include the luxury Wakaya, the more affordable Toberua Island and Naigani Island, or maybe consider a liveaboard diving holiday with Naia'a Cruises.
Other popular diving options include the Tui Tai Adventure Cruises and Moody's Namena Island Resort, both out of Savusavu in Fiji's north.
Fiji dive accommodation includes luxury resorts right through to low cost lodges and backpacking resorts, thus providing affordable dive holidays no matter your budget or holiday style. The various resorts and dive operators offer many diving vacation deals. All-inclusive dive holiday packages provide accommodation, your dive trips, meals and airport transfers. No matter where you stay in Fiji, your resort will doubtless offer some of the best tropical scuba diving around.
Experience so of the best scuba diving in the world.
